The Oxford English Dictionary (OED) is thinking of adding the word “tuhao” for
to
its newest edition. The word ∧become popular in China during the past few months
has
to describe the newly-rich people who spend money in wasteful ways. The OED is
also thinking of including “dama”, other Chinese word, to enlarging the English
another enlarge
vocabulary. Many other Chinese words and phrases are likely to appear in it.
The news which the OED is adding these words have met with some criticism. Some
that has
people say the words embarrass China, but others insist that in a globalized society
it’s naturally for words to spread and be adopted at elsewhere. In my opinions, a word
natural opinion
like “tuhao” expresses the humor and intelligent of Chinese people.
intelligence
So, welcome to the English language, tuhao--- let’s be friends!

W: Well, I was at a dance party and this tall, good-looking guy was watching me dance.
M: Was that Dad?
W: Un-huh. Finally, he asked me to dance with him. We danced a few times and then I left and went home. I didn't think about him after that. But the next day, he called me and sang to me on the phone. He called me every day for two weeks.
M: He sang to you on the phone? Dad? Wow, how romantic!
W: I didn't think it was romantic. I thought it was strange, but he did have a beautiful voice. He asked me to go out with him, but I said "no". Finally, he came over to my house and started singing under my window. All my neighbors came outside to see what was happening. I was so embarrassed.

Thank you, ladies and gentlemen, and welcome to another edition of Cooking With Stanley. Today, we are going to prepare my special recipe for vegetable stew. I call it "Stanley’s Vegetable Stew". It's very delicious, and it's easy and fun to make.
First, put a little butter into a saucepan, Here's the butter. Not too much. Just a little. Okay. Next, chop up a few onions. Not too many onions. Just a few. Chop, chop, choplike this. There we are. Now I am going to cut up a few potatoes. Be careful. Don’t cut your fingers. Next, I am going to pour in a little wine. Don't pour in too much wine. That's enough, I think. Now slice a few carrots. Don't these carrots look delicious? They are from my garden. Slice, slice, slice. There we go...Next, add a little salt. And chop up a few mushrooms. Now I'm going to slice a few tomatoes. Don't use small tomatoes. Try to find big red tomatoes like these. They are also from my garden. And finally, add a little pepper. Cover the saucepan and cook for three hours. So that is our recipe for "Stanley's Vegetable Stew". You are going to love it. It’s easy to make, and everybody says it's out of this world! Until next time, this is Stanley, saying "So long" and "Happy cooking".
