C
I came to study in the United States a year ago. Yet I did not know the real American society until I was injured in a car accident because after the accident I had to see a doctor and a lawyer.
After the accident, my roommate called a doctor for me. I was very grateful and determined to repay him one day. But the next day, he asked me to pay him $200 for what he had done. I was very surprised. He said he had a good reason to charge me. And if I wanted to collect money from the person who was responsible(負(fù)責(zé)) for. my injury, I'd have to have a good lawyer. 'And only a good doctor can help me get a good lawyer. Now that he had helped me find a good doctor, it was only fair that I should pay him.
But every day I went to see the doctor, I had to wait about 50 minutes. He would see two or three patients at the same time, and often stop treating one so as to see another. Yet I was charged $ 115 each time. The final examination report consisted of ten lines, and it cost me $ 215.
My lawyer was all smiles the first time we met. But after that he avoided seeing me at all. He knew very well the other party was responsible for the accident, yet he hardly did anything. He simply waited to collect his money. He was so irresponsible that I decided to dismiss him. And he made me pay him $ 770.
Now I had to act as my own lawyer. Due to my inexperience, I told the insurance(保險(xiǎn)) company the date I was leaving America. Knowing that, they played for time...and I left without getting a cent.

Life is to be enjoyed. There's no point in giving. up something you enjoy unless you get something back that's even better. When people eat more healthfully, exercise, and manage stress better, they find that they feel much better. The latest studies show that when you exercise and eat right:
YOUR BRAIN receives more blood flow and oxygen, so you become smarter, think more clearly, have more energy, and need less sleep. Some studies show that just walking for three hours per week for only three months is so helpful that it actually increases the size of people's brains!
YOUR FACE receives more blood flow, so your skin wrinkles(皺紋) less. You look younger and more attractive. However, an unhealthy diet, stress and smoking reduce blood flow to your face so you age more quickly.
YOUR TELOMERES (染色體端粒) get longer. Telomeres control how long we live. If telomeres become shorter, cells age more quickly, thus shortening your life.
Besides, one of the most interesting findings in the study was that the mothers' awareness of stress was very important. The researchers gave the women a questionnaire and asked them to describe how stressed they felt each day. The women who were aware that they were under heavy stress had shortened and damaged telomeres compared with those who felt more relaxed. On the contrary, some of the women who felt relaxed despite (盡管) raising a disabled child had more normal-appearing telomeres. In other words, if you feel stressed, you are stressed; if you feel fine, you are fine.
33. Which change will NOT happen to you when you exercise and eat right?
A. Having fewer wrinkles. B. Becoming cleverer.
C. Having shorter telomeres. D. Looking younger.

C. many women knew little about educating children
D. mothers' positive attitudes are the key to managing their stress
35. The best title for the passage would be____.
A. Eat better, learn better
B. Feel better, live longer
C. Less stress, fewer diseases
D. Smoke more, age sooner
